How unlucky can you get!! if you stood there with a bucket of balls and tried to hit the bird you would be very lucky to do so, fine him I dont think so Jail him ludicrous

On a technical note the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is an absolute liability law. That means intent has nothing to do with the killing of the hawk. That also means hitting a bird with your car is also a crime. The hawk and owl protection act is not an absolute liability act. Each state is different in terms of wildlife laws. I agree that the chances of hitting a hawk with a golf ball are remote at best. Most people could not hit the hawk with a bullet from a rifle. Political correctness is a cancer on the land. Just go play the great game of golf and forget about it.

That was just bad luck. Get the 10 world best golfers and give ‘em 100 balls each and see if they can hit an object the size of that bird at a distance equal to the distance this guy hit that hawk from, and then pass judgement. This is just a case of %ucking Murphy’s, period.
