Paul McCartney — Yesterday, $49 million

p2pnet news | Music:- Heather Mills threw a glass of water over the “immaculately coiffed hair” of Fiona Shackleton.

Mills is, of course, the estranged wife of Beatle Paul McCartney.

Shackleton is his lawyer.

Mills hurled the water in court after being awarded a cool £24.3 million, which today translates into some 49,042,168 US dollars.

And 89 cents.

“Following the ruling, Ms Mills will receive £14m for herself and £2.5m to buy a house in London,” says the BBC.

McCartney will pay nanny and school fees for his daughter, Beatrice, “and give the four-year-old £35,000 a year,” says the BBC.

Shackleton acted for Prince Charles in his divorce from Diana, but, although Britain is, “the best jurisdiction in the world for wives seeking a divorce settlement,” according to lawyer Sandra Sinclair, Mills had, “no background in law”.

“She must be mad to do it herself,” Agence France-Presse had Sinclair saying. “She will be up against one of the finest legal teams in the world.”

Mills didn’t do badly, though.

The settlement amounts to £17,000 for every day of the couple’s marriage, as the Beeb points out.

Meanwhile, she’ll be back in court today, “contesting the judge’s ruling that the full text of the judgment should be published,” says the Press Association.

“Explaining the decision to release the full judgment, the judge said he was anxious to end speculation surrounding the divorce proceedings. Afterwards Miss Mills, who represented herself, said the only reason she was speaking out was because Sir Paul had ‘insisted’ on the whole judgment being published.

“She said she wanted it to stay private as the judgment involved matters relating to their daughter, such as where she went to school and what she did.”

Such a gold digger, she is. Poor Paul, now he knows that the justice system always leans toward women, not just in Britain.
