Nine Inch Nails’ Ghostly $1,619,420

p2pnet news | Music:- In its first week, Nine Inch Nails’ Ghosts I-IV, released online, pulled in $1,619,420 through 781,917 transactions.

And Yes, this included sales of the sell-out $300 limited (2,500) edition ‘ultra deluxe’ package, numbered and signed by Trent Reznor.

NIN manager Jim Guerinot says the NIN label, The Null Corporation, won’t be releasing traditional sale figures to soundscan.

The $5 Download, $10 2XCD set and $75 Limited Edition Deluxe versions are still available at NIN.com.

The $10 2XCD SET will be released to retail April 5 in Australia and Japan, April 8 in North America, and April 7 in the UK and most European territories.

A $39 retail 4X vinyl version will be available on April 8.

Ghosts I-IV was released under the Creative Commons license.

Actually, it was just the first volume, Ghosts I.

    ^^ Thanks.

    Cheers!

  6. Reader's Write Says:

The great thing about this is that the RIAA will never get a cent of that money.

  7. Andrey Says:

If more artists did this, the RIAA would have so little money that they wouldn’t be able to pay their lawyers.

  8. Reader's Write Says:

Its about time that the artists start getting a proper cut of the album sales. As I recall the riaa called this stunt a “one trick pony” the last time it happened. How ironic.

  9. Reader's Write Says:

Agreed, FLAC is a must these days. The lossy quality of traditionally compressed mp3 and ogg formats are no longer preferred given to-days download speeds . We also need dts and ac3 formats for the surround sound audiophiles among us (me included O_o).
