JuicyCampus records subpoenaed

p2pnet news | P2P:- “JuicyCampus has proved so poisonous there are signs of a backlash,” said the Associated Press in a story which seems to have been taken down.
“People love gossip, and they love to gossip,” said p2pnet, going on, “Always anonymous. Always juicy,”brags JuicyCampus.com. “C’mon. Give us the juice!”
The backlash appears to have arrived.
New Jersey prosecutors have subpoenaed the site’s records, says AP.
“JuicyCampus may be violating the state’s Consumer Fraud Act by suggesting that it doesn’t allow offensive material but providing no enforcement of that rule - and no way for users to report or dispute the material, New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram said Tuesday.”
“There’s an unbelievable amount of offensive material posted and absolutely no enforcement,” AP has Milgram saying, “noting insults about students’ appearance, race and sexual history as ‘ust the tip of the iceberg’.”
JuicyCampus referred a request for comment to its public relations firm, which said a response was forthcoming, says the story, adding:
“The attorney general has also subpoenaed the Web site’s advertising agency, Adbrite, to determine how JuicyCampus represented its operation and what advertising keywords the site requested.
“Milgram said Adbrite has offered full cooperation with the investigation and canceled its contract with JuicyCampus.”

Hi,
Just to clarify - AdBrite terminated the account belonging to JuicyCampus about 3 weeks ago.
We removed them as soon as we discovered they were trying to use our service; they were only around for a few days. We regularly remove users who do not meet AdBrite’s standards.
