Prince Charles to meet Dalai Lama in UK

p2pnet news | Freedom:- China has admitted that anti-government riots have now spread to other provinces.
The Dalai Lama says he’s “always ready to meet” Chinese leaders, in particular President Hu Jintao, though he said he would not travel to Beijing to do so, says the Associated Press, going on:
“But China has ignored calls for dialogue, accusing the Dalai Lama’s supporters of organizing violence in Tibet in hopes of sabotaging this summer’s Beijing Olympics and promoting Tibetan independence.”
Yesterday, p2pnet reported 20 Tibetans were killed by Chinese forces when demonstrators protested an order to raise the Chinese flag over monasteries in the Ngaba TAP (Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture).
The Chinese foreign ministry, meanwhile, said it’s “seriously concerned” about a planned meeting between British prime minister Gordon Brown and the Dalai Lama, “urging Brown not to offer support to Tibet’s exiled Buddhist leader,” says AP.
However, Brown is the least of it.
Prince Charles says he’ll also meet the Dalai Lama when he visits Britain in May, says the Press Association.
“A spokesman for Clarence House confirmed Charles’s meeting would go ahead, but the exact date and location have not yet been confirmed.”
Charles is, “known to be an admirer of the Dalai Lama. In 1991, the pair discussed the plight of Tibet and relations with China at an environment conference in London,” says the story.
