who told you that fairytale?

obviously, you didn’t read my article, which contains ONLY true, verifiable facts. BPI has 400 members, including the four majors - which just so happen to be the same four majors that belong to the RIAA.

of course they’re suing their customers in the UK. they even boast about it on the BPI website in a faq and press releases:

“The BPI began a rolling programme of legal actions against illegal uploaders in October 2004.” (and those they consider the “worst offenders”.)

that’s according to a filesharing faq pdf they have, which was last updated in 2006, but is also referred to in more recent press releases.

so they sue uploaders (who are also customers). and what constitutes being a “worst offender”? they don’t say, so it’s their decision to define it as they see fit.

if you use bittorrent, as you download you are also uploading at the same time. you can’t stop it unless you’re some hacker genius who knows how to fiddle with the program to block uploads. they (BPI) could even try to use this fact to decide who is a “worst offender”.

so although some of their info is outdated, they’re involved in suing their customers in the UK.
