Adobe Photoshop online (kinda)
p2pnet news | Products:- One of the most illegally downloaded pieces of graphics software is undoubtedly Adobe’s Photoshop.
Every time the company comes out with a new release, it’s online within hours, though it doesn’t seem to have had a serious impact on sales.
Now the wheel has now turned full circle with Adobe launching an online version.
“Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced Adobe Photoshop Express public beta, a free Rich Internet Application (RIA) available to anyone who wants to store, sort and show off digital photos with eye-catching effects,” says a company statement.
“During the public beta period, Adobe will solicit Photoshop Express user feedback on product features and functionality, which will continue to evolve over time. As the newest addition to the Photoshop family line, Photoshop Express has taken much of Adobe’s best image editing technology and made it simple and accessible to a new online audience. Photoshop Express allows users to store up to 2 gigabytes of images online for free, make edits to their photos, and share them online in creative ways, including downloading and uploading photos from popular social networking sites like Facebook.”
Users upload their images and then edit them, and they’ll need Adobe’s free Flash Player 9.
To access PS Express, you ‘join’ and from the look of the sign-up page, for the moment, it’s available in the US only.
You can, however, take a test-drive.
Meanwhile, “It’s a solution for the everyday consumer,” the Mercury News has Adobe’s Doug Mack saying.
But, the story continues, “Adobe may find such consumers hard to come by. Its new site joins an already crowded market of online photo services. They range from sites like Flickr that focus on storing and displaying photos to ones such as Snapfish and Kodak Gallery that offer a wide array of printing services.
“Like Photoshop Express, those sites are free and offer many of the same features.”
Then the kicker:
“Unlike Adobe’s new site, many of them already have millions of regular users.”

Nope, we’ve been saying this for as long as there has been software and music.
1. Those who dowload and don’t pay would never had paid in the first place.
2. The only ones that suffer from downloads are vendors of SHITTY PRODUCT.
Since in nearly all markets you cannot return software ( or music CD’s OR DVD’s )
for a refund if it’s crap, the only way to know is to download a FULL working
version first. Obviously, if it’s CRAP a sale is lost ;P.
Whose fault is that ?
3. People WILL PAY for quality.
If they didn’t, there would be no Photoshop.
Downloading hurts no one, except those trying to sell you CRAP.
