‘People WILL PAY for quality’

p2pnet news | P2P:- “One of the most illegally downloaded pieces of graphics software is undoubtedly Adobe’s Photoshop,” said p2pnet in a story on the launch of Photoshop Express public beta online.

“Every time the company comes out with a new release, it’s online within hours, though it doesn’t seem to have had a serious impact on sales,” we went on.

“Weve been saying this for as long as there has been software and music,” says Dreddsnik in a comment post, continuing >>>

1. Those who dowload and don’t pay would never had paid in the first place.

2. The only ones that suffer from downloads are vendors of SHITTY PRODUCT. Since in nearly all markets you cannot return software ( or music CD’s OR DVD’s ) for a refund if it’s crap, the only way to know is to download a FULL working version first.

Obviously, if it’s CRAP a sale is lost ;P Whose fault is that ?

3. People WILL PAY for quality. If they didn’t, there would be no Photoshop.

Downloading hurts no one, except those trying to sell you CRAP.

Agree? Disagree?

  1. Reader's Write Says:

Right now I will pay for nothing to any member of the RIAA or MPAA save with an M16 or a rocket launcher.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Meh. They need a frag in the mouth, or else they will keep on saying bullshit.

    Rocket sniper rifle, anyone?
    Aim and shoot!

Where was the RI/MPAA mentioned in there? Really, if you look at it, it is a blog post on logic, and nowhere there is a story, and nowhere is RI/MPAA mentioned or weapons. The three posts above mine are completely off topic! Really, I’d say it’s spam.

Anyways, I completely agree with the logic, but would like to see if anybody can come up with a counter-argument, such as somebody who hasn’t seen this website alot, such as the first three anonymous-writers.

So, StumbleUpon link to here (which is how I found this site about a year ago.) for hopefully a debate.

  5. Reader's Write Says:

I remember reading some survey with this involving music, some large percentage of music files downloaded (85%+) were only downloaded because they were free. The interviewees said that if they had to pay, then they wouldnt have bothered with the music, and that they would have gladly paid for the 15% or so that they actually wanted.
