Wilders movie Fitna now online

p2pnet news | Freedom:- Dutch politician Geert Wilders, leader of Holland’s Party for Freedom, “favours, among other things, the banning the Koran in Holland because, he argues, it contravenes Dutch law and is a ‘fascist book’.”
But he’s done more than merely complain. He’s behind a 15-minute movie entitled Fitna.
It’s blacklisted by Dutch broadcasters and America’s Network Solutions is even now still, “investigating” whether or not Fitna is, ” in violation of the Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy Network Solutions”.
But today was the day Wilders, with an Al-Qaeda death threat hanging over his head, said his film would be released and it’s now online, leading off with, “This film contains a very shocking images,” living up to the promise.
It concludes with a shot of the Muhammed carton pubished by Denmark’s Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten, and which set off a fire-storm of Islamic extremist outrage which still burns fiercely.

I see this is another article that I can not comment on. For what ever reason the response doesn’t show. Attempting to post a second time says that I have already said that but no such answer is shown. Again, the problem of not accepting posts shows up on the first attempt.

Welcome to the club!
Fitna was interesting. I’m disappointed that it wimped out at the end though. It’s implied that a page is torn out of the Quran, but the text says that it was the sound of a page being ripped from a phone booth. It would have been the perfect opportunity for the muslims of the world to show how peaceful and tolerant they are…

Seizing on a few verses of the koran in this way made the film look propaganda in nature, a simple revelation of statistics regarding human rights violations of the sort practised in countries that do not accept homosexuals or the rights of women to lead independent lives outside of the sort stated in the koran would have been more effectual.
What I did find deplorable was to emotivise this issue by showing scenes that led up to the deaths of people killed by terrorists, to show such scenes was to equate mindless killing with being a muslim, being a white UK national I found this sort of confrontational politics both poor and offensive, if we cannot find the will to respect each other as human beings then violence is often the end result, worse rhetorical violence leads to an erosion of free speech and civil liberties in the short term.
Must we all be pushed and prodded into extremism ? I like to think not, life is something special, together we can keep it that way, peace to you all.

But you were ok with the people protesting in the streets against freedom, or the huge gatherings where speakers called for blood and violence against the west?
How about the little girl calling Jews animals?
The simple fact is that many/most muslims in the middle east are bought up to see all other cultures as the enemy. Even many muslims who wouldn’t kill someone themselves, wouldn’t lift a finger to stop the fanatics from slaughtering innocents. Many approve of what they’re doing, even if they don’t want to do it themselves.
Do you not remember the news footage of people celebrating in the streets immediately after the World Trade Center attacks?

Well The film does seem like just a piece of propaganda. But in life I have found that all media is propaganda in some way. Although their are ways to be fair, most people aren’t because they lack the ability to be logical when their emotions come into play. With that, I am not sure what to take from this film, if anything. First there are only a few verses taken out of context shown. Context and connotation are key to making a good judgement about the level of propaganda this fill has. Also I felt this film was basicly Xenophobic and prejudice against Muslims.

Because they basicly took a few cherry picked scenes, chopped them together and say:”Look! See! Muslims are bad.”
Sorry I like to be presented with all the information, but nice try.

I didnt like how the video was done one bit. Id rather see more text taken from the Qur’an. If you just look at one verse and not the surrounding ones then things can very easily be taken out of context. Even if that is something the extremists use as a reason for doing what they do.
You have to take in the whole meaning. True there are lots of verse’s talking about jews and christians, but still the whole thing needs to be taken into account.
But if Muslims feel this doesnt represent them or their beliefs then maybe they need to help out the western world in better understaning what they truly belive in.

that was a terrible movie, all it was trying to do was incite hate, i’d definitely agree wth v.o.t.b that more information needs to be presented before i can make any real conclusions.

You want an accurate view of the muslim community as awhole?
Make three films and upload them to YouTube;
1. Take a Bible, put it on the ground, set it on fire and then pee on it to put it out. You’ll get angry comments and church groups will petition YouTube to take it down.
2. Take the Hebrew Bible, put it on the ground, set it on fire and then pee on it to put it out. You’ll get accused of being antisemitic and jewish groups will demand that YouTube take down the video.
3. Take a Qur’an, put it on the ground, set it on fire and then pee on it to put it out. You’ll get death threats and Muslims will be rioting in the streets in the middle East.

Not pleasant but for the most part true. this is a reality for a large group of Moslems. we need to see and hear this — it also helps to dispel their insane, uneducated indoctrination

christians and jews do not kill people when people criticise their relgion or make fun of them.We believe in respectful dialogue.Jewish and christian relgions are God inspired religions unlike islam which is man made. This becomes very obvious when you read quran.
