Apple rules at dinner parties

It’s hardly leading edge when it comes to computer sales, but CEO Steve Jobs has still been able to hype the company into popularity.
“Dinner parties have several implicit and unspoken rules,” says brandchannel.com.
“Do not, for example, do or say anything that would embarrass yourself, your host, or a fellow guest. Dinner parties are about being civilized, interesting, and engaged.”
Which brand would brandjunkies prefer to sit next to? Apple.

The site asked its readers to identify the brands with the greatest impact on their lives, and say how they affected readers’ behaviour and their view of the world, and, “The creator of the iPod and Mac computer triumphed in six categories including most inspiring brand and the one readers cannot live without,” says the story, adding:
“At the other end of the spectrum, Microsoft had ‘gone from innovative and bold to stodgy and follower’,” said another unnamed reader.
“After Apple, the most inspiring brands were Nike, Coca-Cola, Google and Starbucks.”
