Bell and Battle at the Big Barn: online

p2pnet news | Games:- If you’re Canadian, and you haven’t heard about the battle developing between online and Canadians and major ISPs, you’re either living in a cave or you don’t have access to print or electronic news media of any description ;)

With Bell Canada, Canada’s largest provider, front and centre, ISPs are throttling bandwidth to the extent “Traffic shaping” must be investigated by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), says the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE).

“The National Union has become increasingly concerned about the issue of network neutrality and Canada’s lack of action to protect consumers and producers of Internet material,” said NUPGE president James Clancy states in a letter to CRTC chairman Konrad Von Finckenstein.

Ontario ISP TekSavvy has been leading the way but, said CEO Rocky Gaudrault a couple of days ago >>>

In trying to bring a little bit of both humour and fun to this stressful week, we sat down and came up with a fun event to hold/get us through this challenging time!

We’ll be setting up a gaming server to be ready for Saturday morning.

Saturday and Sunday will be practice time only, BUT, as of Monday, March 31st, 9AM, until Sunday, April 6th, 5PM, we will hold a TF2 gamers Challenge!

Let’s call it, as a first competition, Throttle This! Battle at the Big Barn! :)

Rules and such are going to follow but, it will be for TSI DSL customers only and the winner at the end of the week will receive $1,000 for kicking A$$!

Now here, thanks to Causalien (right), are the gory details ;)
