Text-message shopping

p2pnet news | Mobiles:- Once upon a time Amazon was just an online book-store.
Not any more.
These days it’s into anything and everything and as of yesterday, you could text the name of a something you want to buy, its description or its UPC or ISBN to 262966 from anywhere cell phones work - including inside stores.
If Amazon has matching items, TextBuyIt returns two results and, “Shoppers can immediately buy one of the first two the selections by texting back the number “1″ or “2,” or they can ask for more by texting the letter ‘M’,” says the Associated Press.
New customers enter their email addresses associated with their Amazon accounts, plus a shipping zip code.
“The service then calls them and walks through the checkout process using an automated voice system,” says AP. Shoppers get confirmation by text message and e-mail.
From there, customers check on order status on Amazon’s Web site.
