p2pnet news | Products:- ‘Do No Evil’ Google has taken another important step forward in its ND (Net Domination) campaign.

As TechCrunch sums it up, “Google isn’t just talking about hosting applications in the cloud any more.”

Yesterday, the company launched the Google App Engine, “an ambitious new project that offers a full-stack, hosted, automatically scalable web application platform,” says the story.

“It consists of Python application servers, BigTable database access … and GFS data store services.”

But, “This is a PREVIEW RELEASE,” warns Google.

“For now, account registrations are limited to the first 10,000 developers, and applications are restricted to the free account limits.”

App Engine, “includes a service API for integrating with Google Accounts,” says Google.

And, “Your application can allow a user to sign in with a Google account, and access the email address and displayable name associated with the account. Using Google Accounts lets the user start using your application faster, because the user may not need to create a new account. It also saves you the effort of implementing a user account system just for your application.”
