Ode to p2pnet

p2pnet news | Off Topic:- One of p2pnet’s most fervent admirers is frequent poster Henry Emrich.
Earlier, I ran an item culled from Britain’s the Telegraph.
It was called Cat Shit coffee, $99 a cup.
It’s official name is Caffé Raro and I’d never heard of it before. But others (ie, Henry) had.
Anyway, my post moved Henry. Deeply
“This site sucks worse every time I come here,” he says.
But he doesn’t just burst into flame. He also offers constructive criticism.
At p2pnet, “We USED to get information about p2p advocacy (albeit, usually of the whiniest “why pay for crap when you can get it for free”/”Your an RIAA TROLL!” sort imaginable, but now, you can’t even manage that. NOW we get the equivalent of ‘doody’ jokes from 3rd grade,” he says, going on >>>
I gotta ask: are you on crack again, or just going senile?
This wasn’t even “news” when Oprah was bleating about it years ago, nor is it the slightest bit “cool”. Civet-cat-shit coffee? Wow.
Just to save you the effort of coming up with more “stories” for all of us(which, given the state of the site lately, is obviously causing progressive brain-damage of some kind), I offer THESE gems of wit for your perusal:
1. There’s a lot of “fart-lighting” videos on Youtube. (Thus, you don’t have to report it on this site, because WE ALREADY KNOW.
2. “Tee Hee hee, you said “poop’” isn’t particularly funny after you’re out of elementary school.
3. Not EVERYBODY who fails to completely embrace and applaud EVERY application of p2p is an “RIAA shill.”
4. Not EVERYBODY who defends copyright law (at least in SOME form) and/or the artist’s right to be compensated for the work they do/claims that creative professions DESERVE the SAME respect as working at McDonalds is an “RIAA Troll.”
5. “Why pay for crap if you can get it for free?” is the mantra of theiving [sic] assholes, NOT of any “genuine revolution in the understanding of copyright.”
6. There are REAL alternatives to this sad little web-rag of yours, Jon. www.questioncopyright.org and Torrentfreak are two sites which consistently give their readers thorough coverage of the p2p/”free culture” scene, and offer a better understanding of the purpose - and problems - of copyright law. YOU spend too much time hurling ad hominem bullshit about how the RIAA is “just like the mob” to actually bother with things of that nature, right?
(Oh, wait, I forgot - NOW we occasionally get his daughter posting up “whackiness” like “badger badger badger” as well!)
Yes, Jon, the “civet cat cofee [sic]” thing WAS lame.
I have to give it to you, Henry, unlike 99.99% of the rantments and slagmail I get, at least you sign your name
Cheers! And all the best …

Nah. Don’t worry about it. Sure, some of the stuff on here is crap, but it’s just crap because I don’t care about it. That’s true about any blog I read. So, what do I do? I skip the article. Obviously I find something of value here, otherwise I wouldn’t keep checking it at least once a day.
Specifically, I keep coming back because I don’t trust any other site to give me an honest play-by-play of the RIAA’s antics, and more recently, legal set-backs.
April 10th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Go back to sleep Henry.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
hah! henry watches oprah!
dumbass.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Ah crap, back to the eaten post that doesn’t show up.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
I found it rather fun to read! Henry made me giggle.
Maybe Henry can submit an article or so once a week.
I think it would rock!
He obviously has a way with words to add entertainment value to sharp critisism like he did.
Kudos to Henry for the fun he brought here today and for the giggles.

” Obviously I find something of value here, otherwise I wouldn’t keep checking it at least once a day. ”
Obviously henry does, as well.
Why else would he continue to come here ?
April 10th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
I have seen Henry post before. Who is he? Does any body know? Does HE know?
April 10th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Bloody hell, even *I* found it funny and I have no sense of humor. Get a grip, Henry!
Now, I’m sure there’s a lawsuit in this somewhere…
(Don’t you dare delete this Jon! Oh and your hatemail is nowhere near as good as mine.)
April 10th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
^^ My hate mail ain’t hate mail.
It’s tough love (ask Scary Sherman how that works
)
Cheers!
April 10th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Don’t you take the micky outta my boss, ya hear?!
Right, where’s that boilerplate lawsuit gone? The tough love one especially reserved for you. Oh crap the PC’s crashed.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:18 am
Maybe Henry would be happy to submit articles on what he thinks are newsworthy topics.
April 11th, 2008 at 12:53 am
For someone who thinks that this entire site and all the articles here are total crap, why does he even waste his time coming here, judging every article, and posting long rants? Could it be because this is one of the more anti-RIAA sites on the internet, and he feels he needs to hit back somehow?
April 11th, 2008 at 1:37 am
Henry is an RIAA agent! Don’t worry about him!
Yes! he is right! p2pnet suck! it suck for the RIAA!
So Jon continue the good job!
It seem to me that the simple fact that the RIAA and the MPAA care enought to pay some trolls to come trolling your way, prove well enough the power and importance of p2pnet. Sometime even one of their exec is made enought to come here and do some trolling himself!
When I discuss the problem of prasites in the music industry with my friends I always send them to this site and this help me to expend the boycott.
Great job Jon! and Thank you!
P2pnet is a major success!

people often assume that the so-called “anonymity” of the internet allows most people to take on a different personality to hide behind.
just the opposite is true, actually.
psychologists, sociologists and other profilers have shown that when people post messages, they’re actually showing their true selves, whether they intend to or not.
so henry is clearly an oprah-worshipping, RIAA troll.
in otherwords, a dumbass.
April 11th, 2008 at 6:30 am
What you name as “crap” is posted here because it attracts the target audience, the “consumers” of “crap” made by RIAA, a-la-Britney.
If this “crap” is what it takes to attract users, so be it.
April 11th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Het Henry, if you’re so bugged, why the hell do you keep coming back????
April 11th, 2008 at 9:27 am
“If this “crap” is what it takes to attract users, so be it.”
Because for the most part of the 20th century people had no choice but to swalow the craps exclusively offered by the mafia of music bags of crap.
This contributed to the artistic desert of the last century. Not any more! Now we have internet and we don’t need the RIAA/MPAA parasites nor the brittney slutts or the Madona Hores! This is the return of the real art! Sorry RIAA!
April 11th, 2008 at 9:34 am
“are you on crack again, or just going senile?”
Well it turn out that the RIAA terrorists and the music executives that kick them in the pit are both on crack and senile the first one inducing the former.
The current music industry is composed of old fat dinosaures whith a pea sized brain fried by crack and soon to become extinct.
Any question?

“Why pay for crap if you can get it for free?”
Well, if it’s CRAP why would I want it at all, much less pay for it? BTW, I heard a song I really liked on the radio last night. Went over to amazon.com and got an uninfected (no DRM) mp3 file of the song for 99 cents. I think 99 cents is over priced, but I’ll pay it for now to support a format that allows me to play the file on any of my mp3 compliant devises. I figure market forces will take care of the price gouging once the big labels and their rabid guard dog (the RIAA) jump into the grave they have been so busy digging.
.
Henry, speaking of crack, get the sand out of yours or just stay with those other sites you hold in such high regard.
.
BTW-The mp3 I bought is “Valerie” by Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse. I LOVE it! And no, I won’t be posting it on P2P…

“BTW-The mp3 I bought is ‘Valerie’ by Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse.”
^^ Emma (my daughter) and I like it too
It’s better than Amy’s straight take, IOHO.
Cheers!

When I read the title of this post, I thought that somebody had written a song in praise of Jon’s work here.
:)
Sorry to see that this was not the case!
