Kids posing as online pedophiles
p2pnet news | P2P:- In Britain, cyber-bulling may have taken on a frightening new dimension.
Children as young as 10 may be using the likes of Bebo and MSN to pose as fake “predatory paedophiles” to frighten boys and girls they have fallen out with, police revealed yesterday,” says the Guardian.
Some nine youngsters in Padstow, Cornwall, were targeted, says the story, going on:
“Police initially believed a local man was trying to groom the children by befriending them online and arranging to meet them. But a member of the public has come forward and told them that youngsters are trying to settle playground disputes by posing as a paedophile to frighten their rivals.”
Language used is at times childish, the story has a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police saying.
“It could be youngsters playing a sick game to try and intimidate friends they have fallen out with. This will be treated seriously and we will be contacting the families of the children involved and we will try and help them by involving social services.”
A spokesman for the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre is quoted as saying the organisation hadn’t heard of this happening before.

What *does* it mean when little Timmy from next door knows how to manipulate the very thing adults are trying to protect him from?
This whole child-sex hysteria is like Alice in Wonderland at times.
