Demonoid is back online, full blast

p2pnet news | P2P:- Yes, it’s true. And no mistakes.
Demonoid is back online full time, and sporting a revised logo
The new Demonoid site admin is Umlauf.
“The old moderator team will continue helping with the site, unchanged,” he promises.”We will try to keep running everything just as it always has been.
“The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible.”
But if Demonoid goes down for a bit, no worries. The entertainment cartels won’t be behind it.
“The site might be going on and offline over the next days as we work out any problems,” says Umlauf.
Meanwhile, “Welcome back, and enjoy your stay!”
‘Great sadness’
As we posted yesterday, Demonoid Mk I suffered thanks to Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s, “ineffective RIAA clone the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association of America),” still struggling desperately, but in vain, to live down the Audiomaxxx debacle.
“It is with great sadness (and not a little relief) that I announce that I will be stepping down as admin of Demonoid,” posted founder Deimos, going on >>>
Demonoid is currently suffering from a number of things, prime amongst these being my distraction with real-world issues, and so I have handed the reins over to a new administrator - a close friend of mine, which I trust completely and has the knowledge and time to take care of the site.
He will, in due course, be making his own announcements about the future of Demonoid. Of course, speculation over the future of the site is fun, but it is ultimately fruitless - you will all, in the near future, become aware of what the future holds. I trust that you will all give your support to the new admin as he finds his feet while he resurrects Demonoid.
Thanks again for your support in making Demonoid what it was and is.
Goodbye and good wishes - it has been a blast!
And it’ll still be a blast.
Enough said.
For now.

There’s something slightly freaky about finding that I’m still logged in… Bobby will be coming out of that shower any moment now.

i’m so happy that demonoid is back, got a virus from TPB and haven’t used it since, demonoid was really the best tracker/site ever.
btw,
they said the servers were cleanly shut down, and that it should resume as if nothing happened. If your ip didn’t change (entirely possible) it’s quite likely that you’d still be logged in.

Really amazing.
But the extra-amazing thing is the change made in Wikipedia-”Demonoid is a website….”.
A few months ago it claimed “Demonoid was a website…”
Wikipedia is completely fucked off by Demonoid.

No, you have not gotten a virus from TPB!
If at all then you got it from some malicious user that was unknown to you, but you got no content from TPB.
Even Microsoft explains that “for dummies to understand” with the sandwich analogy in their 10 Immutable Laws of Security
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/archive/community/columns/security/essays/10imlaws.mspx
P.S: I hope at least you reported the malicious user afterwards so that the user could be banned!
P.S. P.S : Someone can have a bit more confidence if the torrent creator has a green skull for being a VIP/TRUSTED Uploader.

I think that its quite clear that when i say ‘i got a virus from tpb’ i mean i got a virus from a torrent file that was indexed and tracked by TPB, implying that the people who should be finding fakes/viruses are either not doing their job, or are simply overwhelmed by the number of fakes and virii on the site. On the other hand, demonoid has never (in my experience) had that problem. Either people don’t upload fakes/virii (as much) to demonoid, or its fakefinder people are better.
Either way, i like demonoid better.

” I think that its quite clear that when i say ‘i got a virus from tpb’ i mean i got a virus from a torrent file that was indexed and tracked by TPB, ”
Not really.
What’s clear is that it is implied, deliberately, that TPB is somehow responsible for
giving the author a virus, thus users should stay away from TPB.
Silly, since many of the same torrents are tracked by demonoid as well.
Why don’t we all continue to fight amongst ourselves, like the labels want us too ?
What the labels hate the most about us … we cooperate and cooexist, even when there is
no money to be made. They don’t understand this concept and thats why they can’t fight it.
If we start acting like them, chewing each other up like rabid wolves, they don’t need to
fight us.
I like the Demonoid interface better.
I like pirate bay as well.
I use both.
BOTH are excellent, reliable sources for legal content.
The risk of virii is the SAME for both.
The way to protect yourself is the SAME for both.
Surf smart, and carefully.

i know you guys are jumping for joybutwhatyou got to think of is this actually demonoid ?
this was at their homepage
Welcome back!
A few months ago, the site administrator (known as Deimos), lacked the time necessary to maintain this website. And for personal reasons, Deimos decided to resign his position as a member of the site staff.
Before leaving, Deimos picked a new site administrator from among his friends. The old moderator team remained unchanged and will continue helping with the site. The Demoniod team will try to keep everything running just as it always has been.
The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible. If we work on any problems over the next few days, the site might be going on and offline. We apologize in advance if this should happen.
Welcome back and enjoy!
