Net used as bizarre suicide weapon
p2pnet.net News:- A 15-year-old British schoolboy tried to use the Internet as a Byzantine suicide weapon, posing as a female secret service spy in a chatroom to con a friend into attempting to murder him.
Then 14, John convinced another boy dubbed ‘Mark’ that he was killing someone with a terminal brain tumour, says a report in Britain’s The Independent here, going on:
"He was told that his reward would be money, a job as a British secret service agent and sex with the spy, whom he believed was a middle-aged woman.
"In fact, John was determined to get himself killed, which is why he never used the abort code – 6969 – that he provided."
The final internet exchange took place on June 28 last year, says a Guardian Unlimited story here. "U want me 2 take him 2 trafford centre and kill him in the middle of trafford centre??" said one message. "Yes," came the reply.
"Less than 24 hours later, a 14-year-old boy was critically ill in hospital with stab wounds in the chest and stomach. At first it seemed as though a brutal, but straightforward, robbery had gone wrong. But yesterday the young "victim" became the first person in this country to be convicted of inciting their own murder."
Mark pleaded guilty to attempted murder was given a two-year supervision order and banned from any contact with John, says The Independent.
"John pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and incitement to murder. He was given a three-year supervision order, banned from any contact with Mark and was told he must only access the internet under adult supervision and must not enter chatrooms."
