Tesco DRM-free music downloads

p2pnet news | Music:- In Britain, Tesco used to be where you’d go to buy your veggies and other groceries.
These days it’s it’s also selling discount clothes, consumer electronics, consumer financial services, DVDs, CDs, Net service, telecoms, health insurance, dental plans, budget software —- and houses via a what the Wikipedia calls a “self-advertising website called Tesco Property Market”.
It’s also been flogging music downloads, locked up by Microsoft DRM, aka the Windows WMA format.
But that’s about to change, it says, according to NMA.
Tesco Digital will offer 3.3 million tracks, “all of which will be compatible with major MP3 players,” by the end of the year, says the story, adding:
“Pricing models are yet to be disclosed, but Tesco has said that it will vary dependent on whether tracks are bought separately or as part of bundles.”
