The Pirate Bay targets Big 4’s IFPI

p2pnet news | P2P:- The Pirate Bay says it’s going to demand compensation from Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG’s IFPI for loss of traffic incurred because of last year’s IFPI-inspired blockage by Danish ISP Tele2.

And, promises the famous Swedish BitTorrent tracker, if it manages a win, the money will go to independent artists who share their music for free.

TPB spokesman Brokep told TorrentFreak they’ll, “only ask for a reasonable amount of money, unlike the IFPI”.

And if TPB succeeds, it’ll be netting corporate music industry cash, meaning the indie artists will be in effect sponsored by IFPI, which would indeed be, “poetic justice.”

Nor is this the first time The Pirate Bay has fought fire with fire, notes TorrentFreak, adding:

“Last year they took legal action against 10 major media companies, including Paramount Home Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox and Universal Music Group, for using MediaDefender to sabotage their BitTorrent tracker.”

Screw the corporate media bigwigs, they are just thieves themselves and are mad because college kids are out thiefing them. And thats just to damn bad, time to pawn your corporate jet scumbags. Pretty funny how the RIAA can hire hackers to attack the Pirate Bay and others without any fear of prosecution, yet they want to put kids in jail for downloading there crappy ass movies. LOL strange world indeed!
