UMG ’sweetheart’ Nokia deal

p2pnet news | Mobiles:- Nokia loves Universal.
Otherwise, why would it be paying it, “$35 for every phone that Nokia loads with access to Universal’s music library”?
In January, “Nokia Oyj announced it had struck a deal with Vivendi Universal to offer free 12-month access to Universal artists’ music for everyone who bought its Nokia music phones,” said p2pnet recently, going on:
“Nokia’s Comes with Music also Comes with DRM.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, running the “”$35 for every phone” story, Nokia last year sold 437 million phones and could sell around a half-billion this year.
It goes on:
“If, say, 1% of 500 million phones carry the Universal tie-in, that’s $175 million in Universal’s pocket. If it’s 10%, Universal walks home with $1.75 billion.
“Name a Hollywood studio boss, a broadcasting honcho or producer who wouldn’t want an extra $1.75 billion.”
How much does that work out to per download?
