Amy Winehouse — 3 Novello awards

p2pnet news | Music:- Cream always rises to the top, booze, drugs, or anything else, notwithstanding. And IOHO, Amy Winehouse is one of the best female vocalists of this century so far.
So it’s no huge surprise to learn she’s been nominated three times for Ivor Novello Awards, Britain’s top prizes for songwriting.
Listed are Love is a Losing Game and You Know I’m No Good, both in the best song lyrically and musically category, and Rehab, an Ivor Award winner last year, in the best contemporary song category as best-selling British song.
"The Ivor Novellos, sponsored by the Performing Right Society, are named in honour of the British musician, songwriter and actor, and are the only pop music awards to recognise composers rather than performers," says the Independent.
Winehouse is the first artist to receive two nominations in the best song category, says the story.
Both songs feature on Winehouse’s Back to Black, which sold six million copies and won five Grammys and a Brit award.
The fact the album and individual tracks have also been available on the P2P networks since day one doesn’t seem in any way to have dented its popularity.
Au contraire, her online popularity probably had a lot to do with her, and its, success.
Below is a YouTube video of Winehouse doing Rehab at Britain’s Glastonbury Festival last year.
