The Bondmobile ended up at the bottom of Lake Garda in northern Italy and in its latest (mis)adventure, only four days after that, stunt man Aris Comninos suffered head injuries after driving it on the “notoriously winding road” near the lake, says the BBC.

A “near fatal” collision happened in heavy rain near Lake Garda during a chase scene for Quantum of Solace, which stars Daniel Craig as 007, says the Guardian, going on:

“In the carefully choreographed scene, which involved two Alfa Romeo cars and a lorry, only one car was set to crash, but the stunt went wrong.

“The collision badly crushed the front of the car driven by Greek stuntman Aris Comninos. A second black Alfa Romeo car was left hanging over the edge of the mountain road after smashing through road barriers.”

A standby helicopter flew Comninos to Verona, where he had surgery, says the BBC, also reporting he’s in stable condition.

Not only but also, “In March, media outlets in Panama reported that Craig had been injured filming action scenes,” says the Guardian, adding:

“Filming was also delayed during riots near the presidential palace in Panama City, while in Chile, the mayor of a remote rural town drove his car on to the set to protest against the film, which is Craig’s second as the MI6 agent.”
