When I saw the title of this post, I got excited, hoping that WB might continue Buffy in some form, such as animated episodes. After reading the story, I find that it's just another Hulu like site where people can watch episodes of WB shows online.

I didn't see any content on the site (wb.com) yet, so here are my predictions;

1. It will be restricted to the US, or maybe the US and Canada.

2. It will either use DRM infested WMV, or streaming Flash that can't be saved to your drive by any normal means.

3. Like every other official video site it won't have full series or even full seasons online. It will have "most" of the episodes from some of the seasons, but several will be missing (most likely the ones you wanted to watch). The last two seasons of Buffy and the last season of Roswell were on UPN, so the WB probably doesn't even have the rights to show them.

4. It will have the WB's most well-know shows, but none of the more obscure ones like Young Americans or Dead Last, neither of which was allowed to air all its episodes. I'd be surprised if it even has Popular.

In the mean time, anyone who was a fan of Buffy and/or Angel might like to know that both shows are being continued in comic book form. Both have the blessing of Joss Whedon and are considered canon.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 (13 issues so far)

Angel: After the Fall (6 issues so far)
