Lennon ‘Peace’ lyrics on auction block

p2pnet news | Music:- John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for Give Peace a Chance will be going on the auction block.

Owned by comedy writer Gail Renard, they’re expected to fetch up to $600,000 at Christie’s, says Reuters.

“Renard snuck into the Queen Elizabeth Hotel where Lennon and Ono were holding the protest for peace,” says the story, going on:

“According to Christie’s, Lennon gave Renard some mementos, including the lyrics.”

On the final night of the bed-in, “Lennon led a recording of ‘Give Peace a Chance,’ sung by him and 50 or so guests, including Timothy Leary, Tommy Smothers, Petula Clark and Allen Ginsberg,” says the New York Times.
