Nelson Mandela ‘46664′ UK AIDS concert

p2pnet news | Music:- If you’re in the UK, you like politically correct live outdoor events and you have almost £100 to spare, June 27 is a date you’ll want to mark.
That’s when Shirley Bassey, Annie Lennox (right), Razorlight, Leona Lewis and Simple Minds and other artists will perform in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday.
It’s being called the 46664 concert and it’ll be staged in Hyde Park in London.
“Named after the former South African president’s prison number during his time in captivity, the event will raise money for Mr Mandela’s awareness campaign about Aids in Africa, which is also called 46664,” says icWales.
Among attendees will be ex-US president Bill Clinton, British prime minister Gordon Brown, and Robert de Niro, Will Smith and Forest Whitaker, says the Times, adding:
“Talk-show host Oprah Winfrey and Formula1 driver Lewis Hamilton are also on the list.”
Precisely 46664 tickets will go on sale for the three- hour gig, it adds, noting tickets will cost about R1450 (about $193) each.
“Lennox played a key part in the foundation of 46,664 in 2003,” says ThisIsLondon.
“She also performed at a concert in 1988 celebrating Mr Mandela’s 70th birthday. He was released two years later after 27 years incarceration.”
