RIAA lawyer Gabriel named as a judge

p2pnet news | RIAA News:- Incredibly, Richie Gabriel, the Colorado-based Holmes Owen and Bird attack lawyer used by Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony BMG’s RIAA to terrorise scores of innocent American men, women and even children, has been named as a judge .
Richard Lance Gabriel takes his place on the Colorado bench as of July 1, says state governor Bill Rittter.
Gabriel has personally argued all of the RIAA’s main cases, including Elektra v Barker, Atlantic v Howell, Atlantic v Brennan, Capitol v Foster, Atlantic v Andersen, UMG v Lindor, and London-Sire v Doe 1, says Recording Industry vs The People’s Ray Beckerman who, as a lawyer defending RIAA victims, has himself crossed swords with Gabriel on many occasions.
Gabriel tried the Jammie Thomas case, the only one that’s ever gone to trial, Beckerman notes, also pointing out Gabriel was, “working directly under the supervision of the RIAA’s Matthew Oppenheim”.
Matt ‘The Dentist’ Oppenheim left the RIAA’s employ some time ago but continues to pop up in RIAA cases.
The saying that justice is blind is meant to convey impartiality, but in this case ………………

I’m surprised at you Jon. Don’t you think that Mr. Gabriel’s complete lack of compassion, and his extreme creativity at inventing legal theories and facts, should stand him in good stead? After all, this is a man who has proved his worth suing children, disabled people, and the homeless. And of course he has shown excellent judgment — every time he’s about to lose a case, which is every time the defendant puts up a fight, he drops the case. So give the man his due. So let’s wish him well and fervently hope that this time he has found honest work.

Sorry, Ray. I hang my head in shame.
I should have said this appointment explains why the American judicial system is held up as a shining example of all that’s good by Gabriel’s friends everywhere
Cheers!

Yes I’m sure your friend the dentist would agree with you there.

How the F*£& does a social vomit like this become a freaking judge?!?
May 7th, 2008 at 10:00 am
He is NOT a social vomit. He’s a responsible, caring member of society who probably loves puppy dogs and little kids.
Cheers!

“loves puppy dogs and little kids”
It probably would be best not to go into that too deeply

We have to shoot these guys.

A judge with no credibility.
I would just ignore any decision or order this particular “judgggggeeee!” is making.
For me, he is not a judge. He is a parasite.
Is it possible to debar this guy legally or do we have to do it illegally for whatever it’s mean these days?

Not surprising this is prompting many responses.
Since this guys reputation of ethics is clearly suspect, I think this is a pretty clear testimony that one of 2 things is going on with the Governor of Colorado:
1) He is as unethical as the Judge he appointed (or just corrupt).
2) He is clearly uninformed, and made a poor judgment call based on false or misleading information.
Either way, I think this speaks volumes as to the competency of the Colorado Governor’s office.

Gee, I wonder how many accused file sharers he’ll rule in favor of…
May 7th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
I guess they’ll be collaborating to get all the file sharing cases put before him now. Is that legal? The most underhanded piece of skullduggery I’ve heard of. Surely he must be barred from hearing these kind of cases due to his background and conflict of interest, bias or whatever. I wouldn’t want him on my case for any accusation. How can an RIAA lawyer be seen as a decent and honest citizen? A conflict of terms and an abomination.
May 7th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
my name patron will NOT hear “piracy” cases, don’t be afraid about that!
Those are federal “crimes” while he is just a state level judge not responsible for such things.
May 7th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
How can this happen? Surely it’s not allowable. It’s like the Mafia getting one of their own crime bosses appointed as judge. I don’t know the man and his moral integrity, but surely he can see the conflict of interest at least that would arise should he be required to hear a case involving copyright, which is often open to interpretation.
I guess anything’s possible in the land of opportunity where actors become politicians, being well suited and qualified for such positions as things are.
And this may be just the thin edge of the wedge.

…And Justice for all.
Wake up America, Wake Up !!!!.
Is our government SO PURPOSELY blind to things like this just because of the MIGHTY DOLLAR INFLUENCE ???
In other countries this is called CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY and even America can FINGER POINT cases like this in Latin America. BUT is Completely Blind Here in our own country.
Here is called Lobbying.
I love my country with all my heart but we sure need much better leaders . Look at our condition right now and is going to get worst.
I know where my hope and strength comes from.
