p2pnet news | Music:- Times Online and Martha Wainwright are doing a watered down Sunday Mail and Prince.
That’s to say the UK singer and newspaper are releasing free downloads of Hearts Club Band and Jesus and Mary from her I Know You’re Married But I Have Feelings Too album, slated for release on on May 12.
Well, not exactly free.
Anyone who wants the tracks has to give their email address.
You’ll recall that last summer Prince scored a major marketing and PR triumph when he and the Mail on Sunday released not merely a track or two, but an entire CD, Planet Earth —- with no strings attached.

What do they want email addresses for, spam? What else! And only a couple of tracks. Not exactly the streamlined Prince prototype approach where the only catch was you had to buy an expensive newspaper, whether the price was increased I don’t know.
