Japanese xBox game dumped
p2pnet.net News:- “True Fantasy Live Online immerses players in an anime-inspired fantasy world, where they can fly through the air on broomsticks, don the armor of royal knights and do battle with ferocious monsters, or even lead the simple but satisfying life of a cook, who feeds brave adventurers.”
Microsoft’s Japanese True Fantasy Live Online was still up, at the time of writing, and that was the way Bill and the Boyz described things.
But Microsft has decided to undo the magic because, “The MMORPG genre, across all platforms, has become an incredibly crowded and competitive marketplace,” says Game Spot here.
“In response, Microsoft Game Studios has decided to streamline its portfolio, making fewer bets in this genre.”
Developer Level 5 wasn’t able to, “deliver the intended experience to users of Microsoft’s XBox Live service in Japan, the title’s primary target,” says Game Daily here, stating:
“This comes as a major blow to the system’s Japanese lineup, as it means the loss of not only one of the few upcoming role-playing games for the system in Japan, but also a XBox Live title that actually appealed to the regional market.”
Is this in any way related to Bill’s recent belt-tightening decision, we wonder?
