Fahrenheit 9/11, the sequel, on the way

p2pnet news | Movies:- Documentary maker Michael Moore says he’s planning a “a searing and provocative” follow-up to his Fahrenheit 9/11, the film which, “bashed the Bush administration and won the top prize at the Cannes”.

So says the New York Times.

Will it open additional skeletons in different Bush family closets?

It’ll, “pick up where Fahrenheit left off, with Bush’s popularity falling and the Iraq war continuing,” says Agence France-Presse.

Moore so far has made three of the top five grossing documentaries in the US, ‘Fahrenheit’, the Oscar-winning 2002 documentary Bowling for Columbine and Sicko, it adds.

Oh geez, does anybody even care about this self-righteous, self-important, smug little man? Oh, but he isn’t little, is he? He’s a fat, obnoxious slob. Does he have anything important to say? Possibly, and probably a lot of stuff I’d agree with, but I won’t listen to him. I don’t listen to these shrill political types like Moore or Limbaugh or any of that sort. When they act the way they act and present things the way they do, they lose any opportunity to be heard by me. FORM is just as important as CONTENT, people.

Truth is all that matters. Maybe you should listen to him. His movies are actually quite humorous, while at the same time drawing attention to the problems with the subjects he covers. He seems to be constantly dismissed by people that have never seen his movies, or even heard him speak. They just know that they hate that fat political guy.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

do i like moore? not particularly. he is in it for the fame and money half the time but he raises very good points. would recommend the documentary’s to anyone but there more about raising awareness of a problem rather than finding solutions.

Its already proven that the spanish-american (1898) war was was created using a sunk ship, supposedly by the spaniards, as an excuse. It has alredy been proven (in the past year or so)by noneother than an american navy admiral that the ship sank due to an inside explosion, a fact hidden at the time.

Perhaps history will repeat itself and Moore will prove, as he almost did in the first film, that the trade center attack was created by Bush (the great teacher of democary in Iraq?) to serve as an excuse to get some dirty hands on the the petroleum of Iraq and to protect the well connected (to the Bush family) Saudi monarchy (the other great teacher of democracy in the region?).

    I’m already drooling.

  5. bah Says:

“Truth is all that matters.” Part of truth is how it is presented, however. You can’t expect to have anybody listen without the traditional mixture of dulce et utile. One must teach *and* delight. A person who thinks they are presenting truth when they are shrill and raving doesn’t realize that truth has not taken up residence in himself.

We’re so utilitarian in this respect that it’s sickening.

  6. Quartz Says:

I,ll be watching it when it comes out, ignorance is something I leave to the small minded.

  7. Reader's Write Says:

Yawn. I rank this right around that crappy childrens book Madana supposedly wrote a while back in importance.

  8. Stray Mongrel Says:

I find large quantities of ignorance in this guys “documentaries”.

In the same way that religious extremists “say something, and find a few scripture references to support their statements”, this guy likes to make grand claims, and use questionable “evidence” to support his claims.

I find it entertaining, but closer to a “Saturday Night Live” take on reality.

  9. Reader's Write Says:

Michael Moore is one of the few pro-P2P guys in Hollywood. I’m waiting for him to do like Trent Reznor and release his next film on Bittorrent.

  10. Just my two cents Says:

    Can you say “yellow journalism”?

    … I know you could

Basing stories on half truths, and or one sided truths, to prove your points, does not make it completely true, or event a documentary. In fact, it just fuels the miss information among people, to better serve the creator’s wishes (which in this case is most likely a need for fame and fortune).

While there are many interesting points that are made in these films, there is a VERY vague line between what is FACT and what is just SPECULATION (DaVinci Code anyone?). Each of these types of films have incredible claims, which are then later proven false, only to offer a chance for the author or director to get more face time and promotion time in later documentaries across the world.

So, while these shows do get you to think about thinks that you might have overlooked, remember who’s raking in the cash when you buy into these theories.

Man loves a conspiracy, and hates a solved mystery, and will try as hard as possible to keep a mystery a mystery, even if it involves bending reality.

    Just my two cents

  11. Reader's Write Says:

zomg! HE got one fact wrong! Lynch him!

  12. Quartz Says:

I find it funny how you single out Michael Moore for this when its how the US has been making its laws for centuries now.
Vested interest groups such as the RIAA/MPAA pay their pet political monkeys to get legislation passed that steals from you all, I dont see listening to Michael costing any of you a cent thus far

  13. hear no evil Says:

I cannot remember an example of Mr. Moore being “shrill and raving”.

And as far as the facts go, sometimes Mr. Bush and his administration have many times denied things they have said while the cameras were running. That “deer-in-the-headlights” look on Mr. Bush’s face as he realizes the magnitude of what has happened on the morning of Sept. 11th, 2001 is fact, and speaks volumes more than Mr. Moore ever has to personally say. Now watch me hit this drive.

  14. Reader's Write Says:

Hmm..attacking Moore’s work by saying its vague, poorly researched, speculation without proof, and ignorant in posts that are vague, poorly researched, speculation without proof, and ignorant really gives credence to your arguments.

BTW, since “truth” is defined as “a fact that has been verified” or “conformity to reality or actuality,” what is the definition of a “half-truth” or “one sided truth?” Is this simply a truth that some do not like and therefore attempt to debase it or relegate it to something other than the absolute it is? Again…hmm.

  15. wydkchy Says:

Who do we suppose tells more half-truths… Michael Moore or the US Government?

And an attack upon someone’s physique is supposed to prove what? That “bah” is a moron? Or what?
