Im sure the RIAA will do every thing in their power to not lose this one. This could be real damaging to them if people were to find out that they can counter sue for legal fees etc.

I wonder if the shoe is on the other foot.
Their appeal will cost Tanya even more in legal fees.
Will the RIAA be responsible for the legal fees incurred by the
appeal, in addition to what she was already awarded if they lose the
appeal ?

If so maybe the RIAA would be smart and settle now, or pay more later

I’m looking forward to hearing the real figures for damages and about the inevitable class action lawsuit that will bury the RIAA and their thuggery forever.

This is great News and encouraging to others. This case should be followed closely too by all RIAA victims. It isn’t over yet but they will never produce required documents or evidence until forced to. I would encourage Tanya to continue in her mission as intended and not give up. Millions are with you in this. They need to be hit where it hurts, and that means BIG sums of money. Billions, not 1000s. Of course Tanya wouldn’t get that, but it can be required in fines, and jail time would certainly be in order for many of them. Tanya is entitled to more than just her legal fees though, and should get compensation for harassment and medical bills incurred, as well as for the selfless service she is doing for others. This case ought to demonstrate to these thugs that money doesn’t buy everything, and never to underestimate a victim, no matter who they are or whatever their financial status or age.

She is counter-suing for damages. The award of legal fees is just for her cost of defending against the RIAA’s case, which was dismissed with prejudice.
