The fact that girl had family problems does not excuse an ADULT screwing with her mind. There is no excuse for a 49 year old to be playing head games with 13 year old kids, and yes, Drew should get screwed by the courts. There are plenty of people in prison who love head games, she can play with them.

Let’s not for get that a supposed ADULT exploited the girls problems
and ‘gaslighted’ her into suicide. Just because the ADULT’S hands did not
physically tie the rope does not mean they didn’t kill her.
Let’s not forget the responsibility of the parent that drove her to it, and
now tries to dodge that responsibility like some L2parent.
Responsible parenting does not involve the psychological torture of
kids.
Responsible parents take responsibility for their actions.

Let’s not forget that the girl took her own life, no one actually killed her, and also that there are other factors involved related to the dead girl’s psychological health and her own parents’ failure to do their parental jobs properly.

As an adult, you should be responsible for your own actions online.
Especially if it involves tormenting a child. As an ADULT, you should
know better. An adult that acts like a child, then blames the consequences

At least, how most of us remember it. As the Myspace/Facebook generation increasingly becomes more active on the net, protections will be set in place so that it’ll be a safe zone for the kiddies. Once these get passed, the government (usa) will continue to impose limitations on the net. Soon, like Syria, we will be required to use our real name on the net so that we’re more prone to staying in the lines. When we raise our voices about the original purpose of the internet, complete freedom of information, we’ll be bombareded with scary tales of kids being abducted or accusations that we must be sicko’s. Ultimately, all this for lazy parents. As a parent, you are ultimately responsible for your childrens actions online. L2parent.

I’m a bad parent.
I’ll act just like my teenage daughter and
cook up a scheme to ‘get back’ at another girl by tormenting
her on the internet ( since I already know she has
emotional problems ) until she hangs herself. Then i’ll blame it
on her own parents.

Thats great to hear Jon, I read many negative stories where young people are victims, often where with a little help the circumstances could have been completely different, its heartening to hear people like yourself are taking the bull by the horns and making things happen in a positive way rather than letting life become a disappointment and something to fear.

I wonder how much prescribed drugs had to do with it all. Our daughter, Emma, is like triplets on wheels and I’m pretty sure she’d have been labelled in some way or another were it not for the fact we home school her. We decided that was the way to go before she was born. And we thank God we did.

She knows about Facebook, etc, but she belongs to an online group of other home-schooled kids. Parents and mentors keep an eye on the online activities. The kids have fun, but there are boundaries and they’re mostly to do with having respect for themselves and each other, and for being responsible. Things still happen but when they do, they end up being learning opportunities.

It may sound a bit corny, but it works and we, as parents, don’t have to worry.

Facebook, MySpace, and so on, are money machines, pure and simple. Shareholders, not users, will always come first.

This story has them baying for blood on Slycks, can I ask you all here to think about making sure your own children dont feel left out in the cold and spare a minute to think about how alone this poor girl felt with this cruel hoax to decide to take her own life because she felt she had no one to turn to.

My condolences go to this poor childs family even though the events are from last year, lets all do our best to make sure there is no repeat of this for any parent and strive to take care of the vunerable youngsters and be there when they need us.
