Virtual girl in an empty bed

p2pnet news | Cool Stuff:- Are you an unattached male who feels lonely at night? Or maybe an attached one whose partner isn’t around, for some reason or another?
Then Drew Burrows may have the answer.
He’s developed In Bed, an “interactive installation” which, he promises, “compares the feelings of coming home to an empty bed versus coming home to a bed with someone in it asleep but happy that you are joining them”.
Both situations are, “profoundly different” and his In Bed, “invites a viewer to experience and consider the emotions associated with both”.
It works like this:
A person climbs into an empty bed with a projected woman sleeping on it.
“Though the bed is empty, the projection gives the feeling of having someone there beside them,” says Burrows.
“As the person climbs into the bed the projected woman moves close to cuddle and reacts accordingly as the person moves around on the bed. I wanted to give both the sensations of being alone and having someone in the bed with the viewer at the same time.
“The aim of the piece was to speak on the feelings of loneliness, affection, and intimacy.”
In Bed features previously recorded footage of a woman sleeping in various positions, filmed from above.
“An infrared camera is mounted next to the projector and reads the position of a real live person who climbs into the bed,” says Burrows.
“As the person gets into and moves around the bed the woman sleeping is manipulated according to the real life person.”
Presumably, it wouldn’t be too demanding to film a guy for lonesome girls.
Or maybe …….
The permutations are endless

I used to hate it when my ex left the lights on when it was time for sleep. And this requires a projector(!) over the bed!? And I can’t even touch the woman being projected.
How can this be worth it?

I’m not positive, but this looks to be an art installation piece, not something designed for mass marketing.

Does she get naked? Be like having a demon in bed with you. Not comforting I feel.

I think a shadow projection would only make me feel as if someone was standing next to the bed and looking at me, rather than “on the bed”.
