Hamas blocks Gaza Strip porn sites

p2pnet news | Politics:- Hackers penetrated Islamist site Hamas.org at the beginning of May, re-directing visitors to two porn sites.
“On both pages, explicit porngraphic images are shown on the front page, plus links to pay-per-view sites on a vast range of sexual fetishes,”said the Guardian at the time.
The windows had to be closed before browsers, “could remove the material from their screens,” said the story, noting the hack followed an, “admission by Hamas that it was responsible for Sunday’s suicide bombing at Netanya, in which a bomber and three Israelis were killed,” it stated.
Now Hamas has told the main Palestinian telecoms company to block access to porn sites in the Gaza Strip, says Reuters, continuing:
Gaza’s Ministry of Communications said in a statement that telecommunications firm PALTEL has agreed to block Internet users in the Hamas-controlled coastal enclave from viewing adult websites starting this month.
Reuters has Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nono claiming the move is motivated by a desire to, “protect the Palestinian community from cultural pollution and to protect the young generations from the misuse of the Internet through viewing pornographic sites”.
AnĀ ISP in the Gaza Strip, which Hamas seized in June after routing President Mahmoud Abbas’s secular Fatah forces, “estimated that about 400,000 Gazans surf the Web and said almost half of them were aged 18-35,” says Reuters, adding:
“Attacks against video stores and Internet cafes have increased over the past two years. Some of the attacks had been claimed by radical Muslim groups who say such places run contrary to Islamic values.”

Maybe instead of sending soldiers and weapons, they should just drop boxes of X-rated magazines on the enemy.
