Anonymous Scientology protester, 15, arrested

p2pnet news | Freedom:- One of the sites which uses p2pnet stories is France’s agoravox.com and yesterday it ran our post headed up Google and Scientology cosy up.

The story drew three comments, one from a supporter which claims the cult is a religion and cites ‘The Creed of the Church of Scientology’ which states: “That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.”

“Yeah?” - says a response. “Tell that to Paulette Cooper” —-

—- “and tell that to the FIFTEEN YEAR OLD CHILD the cult had arrested in london ten days ago. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/may/20/1

The Guardian story centres on the international May 10 Anonymous CoS demonstrations and states >>>

A teenager is facing prosecution for using the word “cult” to describe the Church of Scientology.

The unnamed 15-year-old was served the summons by City of London police when he took part in a peaceful demonstration opposite the London headquarters of the controversial religion.

Officers confiscated a placard with the word “cult” on it from the youth, who is under 18, and a case file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A date has not yet been set for him to appear in court.

The decision to issue the summons has angered human rights activists and support groups for the victims of cults.

The incident happened during a protest against the Church of Scientology on May 10. Demonstrators from the anti-Scientology group, Anonymous, who were outside the church’s £23m headquarters near St Paul’s cathedral, were banned by police from describing Scientology as a cult by police because it was “abusive and insulting”.

The story continues >>>

The City of London police came under fire two years ago when it emerged that more than 20 officers, ranging from constable to chief superintendent, had accepted gifts worth thousands of pounds from the Church of Scientology.

The City of London Chief Superintendent, Kevin Hurley, praised Scientology for “raising the spiritual wealth of society” during the opening

of its headquarters in 2006.

Last year a video praising Scientology emerged featuring Ken Stewart, another of the City of London’s chief superintendents, although he is not a member of the group.

Stay tuned.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Scientology is a CULT CULT CULT CULT CULT CULT CULT!!!

  3. Harry Nads Says:

Score another point for The Church of Scientology. The boxscore has now been updated.

The Church of Scientology 2 Anonymous 1

  4. Quartz Says:

So its an offence against scientologys values to allow democratic free opinion, how quaint.

Lets see how far they go down this road when the city of london police is reported to the police investigation authority, I have the idea a few resignations or early retirments may will crop up, no one likes open corruption, least of all the honest rank and file officers.

  5. D Says:

b& for using negative words in a protest. For shame.

  6. Mostly Harmless Says:

“That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.” …As long as they are members in good standing of the Cult of Scientology with dues fully paid, of course…

  7. Martin Says:

I am so sick of that insidious CULT!
    When is the next protest?

  8. Reader's Write Says:

next it will be “abusive and insulting” to protest at all.

  9. Reader's Write Says:

Jon, I would be looking over your shoulder. I bet they have a bullet with your name on it.

  10. Reader's Write Says:

Being part of the EU, can’t this kid be granted exile by Germany (who has defined Scientology as a cult and an endangerment to human rights) or something?

  11. Reader's Write Says:

They do believe in freedom of speech. Just don’t speak against them or they’re up in arms. They ARE a cult. A dangerous group with quasi-pseudo-religious beliefs who follow a man, effectively worshipping him and his philosophy.

Christendom is not made up of cults in general. They are breakaway forms of original Christianity, or apostate false religion.

The Church of Scientology 2 Anonymous 1″

No. You are wrong. This is the new score: The Cult of Scientology: 2 Anonymous: 200.

Why? Because the scam of scientology has been exposed, thanks to all the heroes fighting this dangerous cult and of course thanks to anonymous.

Now the knowledge of what kind of crap is the cult of scientology is spreading fast and wide all around the world. This is why people are leaving it by the truckload. With Internet, business based on lies and deception such as the cult of scientology or the music industry can not survive.

And as far as corrupting the police and others government officials, there is obviously a limit to it since the corrupted party are eventually dismissed.

Scientology is a dangerous cult and is perceived as such by the general public.

    Freedom of religion yes but
Freedom to scam and brainwash people NO!
Freedom of breaking our laws NO!
Freedom of conducting harmful and criminal activity such as fair game operations. NO!
    Murdering critics of scientology, NO!
Scamming people into paying hundred of thousand of dollars for BS, NO!
Abusing children and adults making them work hundred of hour a weeks for almost no salary NO!
Breaking the child labor laws NO!

Obviously this scientology OTies are not very smart. Otherwise they would not have bring these abusive copyright claim that started the steam-roller rolling.
Claiming intellectual property right on the obsolete psychiatric and psychological methods of the 1910s have no validity. These methods where developed not by Ron Edward but by a group of psychiatrists at the beginning of the 20th century to replace the use of electroshock. The church of Scientology is using these outdated methods to brain wash people, enslave them or draw hundred of thousand of dollars from them.

All of this is now widely exposed on the net thanks to the Scientology litigation tactic.
If I was David Miscarriage I will have put a sign on my but that say: ”Kick Me!” instead.

Scientology is doomed and will add to the pile of rubbles of the music industry. Autodestruct sequence in progress!

  13. Sunking Says:

This gets me so angry and pissed off that I think I am going to go to the next demonstration to protest…. a bit… as long as it’s close by…. couldn’t be bothered travelling THAT far like. Actually, I might just shout something out the window while I drive past. Yeah, much quicker that way. Actually, if I shout loudly maybe I can just lean out my window. Grrrr get me so angry these sociologists….

The Church of Scientology 2 Anonymous 1″

    Incorrect, the real score is…
The Church of Scientology 1, Anonymous 1, England -1.
For England, everyone will always see England as the followers and supporters of the Nazi Bush regime.
Sounds to me like people should be boycotting England for many reasons: supporting Bush, supporting the RIAA and IFPI, and supporting CoS.

“Scientology is doomed and will add to the pile of rubbles of the music industry. Autodestruct sequence in progress!”

That is something everyone wants. Unfortunately, most countries that claim to be a democracy, like England and the USA, are actually oligarchies.
The defeat CoS, Bush, RIAA, and countless cartels/mafias, the oligarchy system must be replaced by a true democracy.

  15. an Arse Says:

crap, I hate typos. Can the moderation please change “The Defeat CoS” to “To defeat CoS”? thx.

  16. VP Says:

The tech has been hijacked, pure and simple.

    http://members.iimetro.com.au/~hubbca/sci-infiltrated.htm
The last corporate entity to practice the subject of Scientology was the Church of Scientology of California. In the early 1980’s a group of conspirators took over the Church. The conspirators dismantled the Church of Scientology of California and replaced it with three new corporations

Church of Spiritual Technology - CST
    Religious Technology Center - RTC
Church of Scientology International - CSI

The above three corporate entities market the “Scientology Religion”.

The way this is accomplished is that CSI alters, deletes, and fabricates LRH issues such as LRH HCOBs, books, and tapes. RTC then approves these alterations, deletions, and fabrications made to LRH issues by CSI. CST then accepts the “based on the works of LRH” issues and archives them in underground storage vaults “for future generations.”

The above three corporate entities are co-conspirators in a fraud being perpetrated on the paying Scientology public. The executives of these corporations and Church promo make the false statement to the paying Scientology public that what they are purchasing and receiving is “pure, unadulterated LRH technology”. They make this fraudulent statement while knowing full well that they have made thousands of alterations, deletions, and fabrications to LRH issues.

  17. ObjectiveGuy Says:

Wow, you people are a bunch of lunatics. You have no idea that YOU are actually far worse than any religious group.

You see, “cult” is an insidious word used by people in a majority to demean a minority group. No one ever says, “Yeah, I’m part of a cult,” but rather it’s used as an insult. Also, any new religious movement ALWAYS gets slapped with the “cult” tag. Here is the simple truth: ***The ONLY difference between a “cult” and a “religion” is the size of the congregation.*** If you can get enough people to believe in your crap, then you won’t be considered a cult because you will no longer be a fringe minority group. For example, when Christianity first began to crop up, christians were a viewed as a cult until finally enough people bought in to its ideals. Just think about it, imagine if a new church sprang up tomorrow that believed civilization began with a talking snake. You would label them as a cult. However, this is classic biblical lanaguage, and since there are so many christians out there, we don’t view christianity as a cult.

The same thing goes to Quakers, puritans, amish, lutherans, and mormons to just name a few. Our country was founded in part by people who left their homelands because of religious intolerance to their minority “cultlike” views. This is why we have the establishment clause in the constitution to keep seperation between church and state: To keep the government from protecting some religious groups at the expense of others.

In short, referring to a religious groups as a “cult” is like referring to a black person as a “Ni$$er.” Both are just perjorative words that serve no purpose but to insult and offend the minority target. But of course, idiot anti-scienos are so filled with hate and intolerance that they are just completely incapable of looking at it objectively. You see, you are in too deep…you don’t realize that you are slinging around the religious version of the N-Bomb.

And secondly, from my understanding, where in this particular storty did the CoS put out a code red on this kid? It seems to me that the London police saw the word “cult” as insulting and inciteful, and they arrested the kid. No where is it shown with any kind of evience that a CoS leader called up a cop and asked him to arrest THIS ONE PARTICULAR KID IN A CROWD OF PROTESTORS. The ONLY thing the article refers to for support is the fact that the Police Department took donations from the church in the past, and it just kind of assumed that the cops were bought off. Ummm, churches donate money to police departments ALL THE TIME. Even private citizens do this… I’ve done it before! They give you some neat-o stickers. Thus, if you are trying to make a connection from the donations to this one specific protestor being arrested for using insulting language, you are going to need something more because TONS OF PEOPLE DONATE MONEY TO THE COPS.

At the end of the day, there is one simple truth: Anti-scienos just have a problem minding their own business. You are the equivalent of the nosy old lady in the neighborhood who constantly is getting involved in all of her neighbor’s business. You see, a religious choice is an independent decision that has absolutely not bearing on your life. If someone wants to join the COS, then it’s their decision and you have absolutely no say-so. It’s NONE of your business! Can’t you just let people make their own decisions?! Don’t you have your own life you should be attending to? What makes YOU so special that you can decide what is best for other people? Personally, I think all religions are stupid and dangerous, but it’s none of my business if you want to be muslim or christian, and I won’t wage some kind of ridiculous internet war in protest. Anti-Scienos are nothing more than a modern day hate group.

The freedom of religion encompasses MUCH more like merely the freedom to practice christianity, islam, judaism, buddhism, and hinduism (Those groups do not need protect because of their large size.) It’s most important function is to protect the smaller guys that are constantly being persecuted by idiots like yourselves.
