p2pnet news | Freedom:- Today is the day Canadians are gathering in Ottawa to tell the federal government what they think about Net Neutrality and bandwidth throttling.
Bell Canada was suffering under the delusion it could choke down accounts paid for by some of its customers, wrongly claiming they’re responsible for bandwidth congestion.
And instead of sticking up for the people who put him into office, industry minister Jim Prentice is backing Bell.
Today Canadians will tell them both just how wrong they are, with special buses leaving Toronto before the crack of dawn to ferry protesters to the rally.
The time?
11:30 am ET on Tuesday.
The place? Parliament Hill.
The CBC says it’ll be covering the event.

To stop/prevent a Duopoly Environment (where Cable/Telco incumbents control)

To allow new content and applications to develop and/or flourish (ie: facebook/google)
3 - Consumer Rights:
Promote ISP transparency
Promote Consumer Privacy
Promote the need for Product delivery (get what you pay for)

this is disgusting. We canadians need to put some pressure to our representatives to actually take a stance. It is very important than more people are aware of what net neutrality is. If you are a canadian blogger, blog about it spread awareness. !!!!See you in Ottawa

The lack of news coverage on this and the possible copyright reform isn’t helping matters.
These things actually matter to canadians, unfortunately our government is bending over and taking it up the ass from the US.
Wake up CBC and report these issues every night so canadians will know it is happening.
When is the last time the CBC News interviewed Jim about the copyright bill??
Personally I think Jim is getting the copyright bill prof-read by the RIAA, CRIA and the MPAA so he can get a suitcase full of cash delivered to his hotel room..
