p2pnet news | P2P:- Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony BMG’s CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association of America) is on the attack again, this time going after Toronto’s Moxie Colo.
It wound up with egg on its face after trumpeting a bust in Winnipeg, and then being forced to retreat with no charges laid.
The victim on that occasion was audiomaxx .

Meanwhile, Moxie Colo, “has been ordered by the CRIA to close at least four major sites,” says TorrentFreak, going on:
“MoxieColo was issued with cease and desist notices and ordered to hand over the owners data and site logs of What.cd, SumoTorrent, BTMon and FullDls.”
“Q is for QuebecTorrent, the Quebec-based ‘torrent tracker’ that was sued by a group of cultural organizations on the grounds that the site facilitates copyright infringement,” noted Ottawa law professor Michael Geist, and the site owners are still, “tied up in a legal battle against the music industry in Canada,” TorrentFreak says, also suggesting, “the running out of town of Demonoid” was, “just a run up to further action by an emboldened CRIA”.
Demonoid, however, is now back online full time, and sporting a revised logo, with a new host.

p2pnet asked Corbin if he was planning on complying but, “No!” - he said. “Its up to the courts to decide.
“Until then its business as usual and everyone is equal as long as what they’re doing is legal and as far as I can see, these sites are.”

I order the CRIA to cease and desist their actions and all business from henceforth, else suffer the legal consequences of prosecution to the maximum letter of the law. What they’re doing is illegal and fraudulent business practice.
