Ottawa Net Neutrality rally: first pix

p2pnet news | P2P:- Here’s a composite pic of the Net Neutrality rally at Parliament Hill in Ottawa today.

On the left is Steve Anderson of Democratic Media, centre is Phillipa Lawson, CIPPIC, and beside her, Charlie Angus, NDP digital culture spokesman.

More on the rally and what the speakers had to say tomorrow.

Meanwhile, head on over to dslreports where you’ll no doubt find updates posted throughout the day.

The original four pix from which the one above was made up were posted (and taken?) by Abattoir on dslreports.

Stay tuned.

please tell me more people went?

  2. Abattoir Says:

Thanks for the nod! Great work on the composite, BTW.

  3. Alex Says:

Yes, more people went there, we were a lot! 300-500 ? Hard to count :)

  4. Reader's Write Says:

What did rallies ever do except get people arrested and make more people aware by giving negative attention? Politicians do not bow to this kind of pressure nor are influenced by it. All they see is an unruly mob, and become even more obstinate in their stance. Making more people aware does not change laws. It’s the politicians and lawmakers who decide, and not based on public sentiment. This doesn’t help them decide. It’s all relative and temporary anyway.

  5. Reader's Write Says:

Rallies do work (if peaceful) take the 20,000(even more in london but cant remember amount) in Birmingham who turned up to the “drop the debt campaign” in the uk when politicians look out the window or on tv and they see a sea of people they get worried about reelection.

  6. Abattoir Says:

Hmmm…the Million Man March comes to mind, as well as countless Vietnam demonstrations in the US in the 70’s. Rather a bit over the top to claim that they never work.
