£5,000,000 Harry Potter ‘prequel’
p2pnet news | Off Topic:- An 800 word ‘prequel’ which came a year after the seventh and final Harry Potter book is likely to fetch £5,000,000 (about $9.85 million) when it goes on the auction block next month.
A handwritten note at the end of her new tale reads, “From the prequel I am not working on – but that was fun!” – says the Glasgow Daily Record.

“Rowling, who lives in Edinburgh, has sold more than 400 million copies of her seven Potter books – earning her more than £560 million,” says the story, pointing out:
“A 93-word teaser by the author, The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, went for £1.95million at auction last year.”
Rowling was one of 13 authors invited by bookseller Waterstone’s to fill an A5 storycard for auction on June 10 in aid of two charities, Dyslexia Action and English Pen, says the Telegraph.
“All were told they could fill the card in whatever way they wished,” it says, but, “To the organisers’ amazement, Rowling, 42, supplied the 800-word, hand-written prequel.”
The story has Waterstone’s Gerry Johnson saying, “We never dreamed that JK Rowling would donate something so precious, and we’re incredibly grateful.”
Fans, “unable to meet the bidding price for the prequel need not fret, however,” says the story, adding:
“The day after the auction, a facsimile of the story will be displayed in Waterstone’s branches and on its website.”
