Anti-Phorm protest outside BT, July 16

p2pnet news | P2P:- Alex Hanff has, at considerable personal expense to himself, been front and centre in the battle to force the activities of advertising targeteer Phorm into the public eye.

Last week, p2pnet posted >>>

Richard Clayton says it’s illegal. Nicholas Bohm says it’s illegal. Alex Hanff says it’s illegal. The European Commission says it’s illegal.

And yet still Britain’s information commissioner and home secretary refuse to take action against it, says Hanff, ‘It’ being despised targeted advertiser Phorm.

“So the campaign has stepped up a notch and media is being created to increase public awareness,” says Hanff, who’s now appealing to film-makers and anyone else with a satirical bent to make viral videos for YouTube, and/or images like the one on the right for posters and fliers.”

Now Hanff has notched it up ever further.

He’s organising a protest outside BT’s offices in the Barbican in London, England, on July 16.

The occasion? The BT AGM.

“Several BT shareholders are concerned about this issue and will be asking questions before joining the protest outside,” says Hanff.

He’s also he started a blog called, appropriately, No DPI - Watching them watching us.

It’s also likely a case file will still be officially handed in to the police.

If you’d like to know more, or if you think you can help, contact Hanff at no2dpi @ googlemail dot com.

Definitely stay tuned.

    what?

  2. Alexander Hanff Says:

Just a quick correction, the protest is not outside BT’s office but outside the Barbican Centre where BT’s AGM will be held.

    Thanks again Jon.
