p2pnet Readers’ Writes, June 3-4

p2pnet news | P2P:- Hi all:
I’m taking a badly needed break for a couple of weeks and I’d like to ask your help to keep p2pnet least partially ticking over.
I’m posting seven files, of which this is the first, and if you wouldn’t mind, if you find stories, links, and so on, you think might interest other people, could you post them as comments?
Ottawa Gal and her husband are going to keep an eye out for spam, etc, and I’ll log on when I can.
Out of interest, on June 3, 1968, Valerie Solanas, author of The SCUM Manifesto, tried to assassinate Andy Warhol by shooting him three times.
And on June 4, 1584, Sir Walter Raleigh established first English colony on Roanoke Island, old Virginia (now North Carolina).
Thanks for the help
And see you full-time again on June 17.

2. Canadian government shills caught hard at work editing the Canadian Minister of Industry wiki entry.

and

The government has been editing Minister of Industry Jim Prentice’s Wikipedia entry, removing mentions of the recent copyright-reform controversy and hailing the minister as personifying “experience, confidence and competence, ability and capability.”
While Industry Minister Jim Prentice has sought to project an air of unflappability around the outcry over the Canadian DMCA, it would appear that behind the scenes his staff is working overtime to eliminate any negative comments on Wikipedia.
