No one ever accused the American entertainment business of subtlety. But its attempts to smother consumer rights in the name of copyright protection are a disgrace.

And Canada is next on the industry&#039;s hit list.

The Conservative government has introduced its long-awaited reforms to Canadian copyright laws. The legislation is a howitzer of threatened lawsuits, prohibitions of harmless behaviour and regulations that will require an army of lawyers to interpret.
