Firefox 3

p2pnet news | Products:- If you’ve been using the Firefox 3 beta and you haven’t already noticed, the official Firefox 3 is now online.

With more than 15,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is safer, smarter and, “two to three times faster” than ever before, Mozilla promises.

Highlighted are six features >>>

  • One-Click Bookmarking
“Bookmark, search and organize Web sites quickly and easily.
  • Improved Performance
“View Web pages faster, using less of your computer’s memory.”
  • Smart Location Bar
“Find the sites you love in seconds - enter a term for instant matches that make sense.
  • Instant Web Site ID
“Avoid online scams, unsafe transactions and forgeries with simple site identity.
  • Full Zoom
“See any part of a Web page, up close and readable, in seconds.”
  • Platform-Native Look & Feel
“Browse with a Firefox that’s integrated into your computer’s operating system.”

One of the hang-ups for the beta version (for us, anyhow) was a tendency to crash.

So far, with the official version, no crashes : )

At 3:52 am Pacific, there’d been 5,854,564 downloads.

“So far, with the official version, no crashes …”

I spoke too soon — two crashes and re-starts since I logged on.

    Cheers!

  2. Reader's Write Says:

I had a crash, but it wasn’t a big deal. I also sent the report to mozilla, so hopefully that will help identify the problem. The one thing that does concern me about ff3 is the frequent hardrive access; it seems period access the harddisk for a sustained period; I also had this problem on ubuntu linux. It seems to be doing something in the background with the hd, not sure what though.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

Altho Firefox claims that download helper (youtube videos et al) cannot be updated with version 3, the lying pricks are proven wrong when u get it from the home site.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

please ban all ubuntu linux posters, their continued propaganda hype is making me ill
