Site bans ‘ugly’ people

p2pnet news | Products:- Are you a Beautiful People?
Then you’ll be glad to know BeautifulPeople.com is coming to Canada.
However, it doesn’t think Firefox qualifies.
“BeautifulPeople.net is only supported by Internet Explorer,” it says, telling us, “You are currently using version: Netscape 5.0.”
Actually, we’re using Firefox.
But anyway, “If you do not wish to update your browser [to Internet Explorer, natch] but would like to continue even though BeautifulPeople will not work as is intended, click here,” says the site.
Which comes up in Firefox with no problem.
But if you’re ugly, forget it.
Because BeautifulPeople.com is only for, well, Beautiful People.
“BeautifulPeople.net is an elite and exclusively Beautiful community, founded for the purpose of creating personal and professional relationships between people who stand out from the majority because of their attractive appearance and personal qualities,” says its fulsome ‘About’ page, going on >>>
BeautifulPeople has been described as an “elite online club where every member works the door”.
BeautifulPeople Network (BP) is the first online Dating and Networking community of its kind. To become a member of BeautifulPeople applicants have to be voted in by existing members of the opposite sex. Over a three day period members will rate all new applicants based on whether or not the members of BeautifulPeople find each profile ‘attractive enough’.
Should applicants secure enough positive votes from our members, they will be granted membership to the most exclusive and Beautiful Network in the world. The vote is fair and democratic, BP does not define beauty we simply give an accurate representation of what British society’s ideal of Beauty is.
Unfukinbelievable. And 100% repulsive.

“BeautifulPeople.net is an elite and exclusively Beautiful community, founded for the purpose of creating personal and professional relationships between people who stand out from the majority because of their attractive appearance, personal qualities, and very low intelligence.”

Dear BeautifulPeople.net members,
Please supply GPS coordinates of your primary place of residence and when the best time of day is to find you at home. We want to make sure your PBB (personal beautification bomb) is delivered to you personally as accurately as possible and in a timely fashion.

The only reason anyone would be against this is because they are ugly and/or jealous. Don’t hate someone for caring how they look!

Dear god, the battle of the vanities no doubt.

I assume you are equally outraged by the existence of MENSA?

It’s a recruiting site for the Golgafrincham B-Ark
And… Nice bit of irony in sourcing their web coder from their own ranks!

@ I assume you are equally outraged by the existence of MENSA?
Good one
Cheers!

Bazza easily wins the match with a beautifully played “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe” reference.
“I assume you are equally outraged by the existence of MENSA?”
Yes, equally…

So, uh, why do you find the site repulsive? If a person doesn’t want to look for an ‘ugly’ person, then this means that other sites have more relevant matches.

If someone judges someone based soley on their looks, then they are someone I don’t want to know,
no matter how ‘Beautiful’ they appear. That is simply their way of hiding how ugly they are inside.
That’s not just something ‘ugly ‘ people say.
That’s something grownups have learned.

When these members “work the door” are they also screening for any elements of intelligence? Because my feeling is that the majority will have the intelligence of a cabbage.

I say they should get ‘DDoS’ed out of existence. Enough with this elitist crap.
