Paris Hilton helps sick kids

p2pnet news | Celebrities:- Is Paris Hilton keeping her promise to become a “better person”?

She’s made a donation to “support the construction of the New Hospital Building at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles,” says her press statement.

The money will go towards the construction of a “new space for children being treated at the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases in the New Hospital Building,” says a lengthy press release, which has her saying:

“The children I have met through my involvement with Childrens Hospital have truly touched my heart.”

The statement gives the impression Hilton is paying for a major portion.

Hospital officials didn’t specify the amount Hilton gave, “but said her contribution will trick out a double-patient room in the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, which is slated to open in 2010,” says E! Online, adding:

“Perhaps it really does run in the family after all. On Monday, the Chronicle of Philanthropy named Paris’ grandfather Barron Hilton as the No. 1 giver of 2007 on its annual list of America’s top 50 charitable donors.

“The elder Hilton announced in December that he had earmarked 97 percent of his multibillion-dollar fortune toward the family’s philanthropic foundation, which supports a range of causes worldwide.

“The remaining 3 percent of his estate will eventually be split among his eight children and numerous grandchildren.”

Ms Hilton has also been cited elsewhere in the health care arena.

Rats confronted with a cardboard Hilton cut-out apparently have less pain than others, a Canadian researcher discovered.

“Not only but also, male rats are more likely to experience the Hilton effect and females.”

Hi! I like Paris Hilton! My favourite video is this! The first time that I saw it, I love it. What do you think? Bye bye! My favourite video

My first thought was, “how can she help sick kids when she can’t even look after herself”? The 2nd thought was “by a donation”. This is commendable I guess, only it is also tax deductible, and gives her good press reports. Why help others just to get media attention? This is only self-serving. Regards to Paris’ mother above.
