"Remember when Microsoft got sued by Apple for ’stealing’ the Macintosh graphical user interface?"

Hey! You can't steal that! We stole it first!

Steve Jobs & Company reverse engineered a GUI complete with a "mouse" pointing device that they saw at Xerox. They totally ripped it off. Then they have the gall to sue MS for doing exactly the same thing. Objective recognition of relevant prior art has become a bad joke in the IP world. Back in the day Les Paul invented adjustable pole pieces in electric guitar pick-ups that allowed the volume of each string to be adjusted in relation to the others. A true innovation. His patent application was denied because there was a patent on an adjustable pole piece for certain electric motors! These days if you throw enough money at it you can patent a fart because it's "unique". Facebook? Meh. Now RateMyRack.com, THAT'S innovation! ;-)
