Apple, Microsoft, security fixes
p2pnet.net News:- As Microsoft’s first fixes for June come in at under Critical, Apple has finally sorted out the Mac OS X security problem reported in May.
"For the second month in a row, Microsoft’s list of security bulletins and patches it revealed Tuesday was relatively short: just a pair, both rated ‘Moderate’," says TechWeb here, going on:
"The vulnerability most likely to affect businesses lies in a flaw within software from partner Business Objects that’s distributed with several Microsoft products, including Visual Studio .Net 2003, Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager (included in the Small Business and Professional Editions of Office 2003), and Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2."
Microsoft has posted several work-arounds, says TechWeb.
On the wormy Apple, according to Macworld UK here, Apple’s senior vp of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller says a new security update 2004-06-07 fixes everything and, "Apple urges all users of Mac OS X to download the update which is available via software update or via Apple’s security Web site."
