Illegal Music Downloader Pays Heavy Price
Updated: 09:11, Friday October 05, 2007

Jamie Thomas was sharing thousands of files..They said she shared 1,702 songs by downloading them without permission and then offering them online through a Kazaa file-sharing account. Just thought I’d point out the date of the article.

what Pete Townsend has to say:

this is kid rock concerning itunes here:

however, kid rock also takes a stand against pirating in a cynical way:

In another relatively chilling blog, you might consider this blog too because this, indeed, may be where government is heading:
benefit of the doubt, maybe there is something Gregg knows that we haven't considered:

kdse: how is the law on the side of TPB? I just noticed that post here. TPB (the site itself) may be legal within Sweden; however, isn't
file-sharing of copyright content also illegal in Sweden and also in many other countries? Does TPB warn their users about that?

(with regard to your question). When it comes to sourced information, I am afraid that I will not share that information with you. However, you are welcome to read about
it once the story is published.

I saw that the Wikipedia page for Indiana Gregg has been locked from further editing due to repeated vandalism, sock-puppetry, edit-warring, and general lamership.

It seems the squatters that formerly resided on her wiki page are now taking a squat here on P2P net.

TPB shill! The Pirate is dead. Long live the pirate. The legions of them. Oh dear. How will I keep my tiny boat a floatin'.
The TPB Titanic of the torrent community. (this is part of my film you see.) Then, big sign carried by a lovely penguin pops up out of the mighty sea that says "BEWARE OF ICEBERG". Alas, the Kapitan looks ahead 'shiver me timbers".

Big orchestra comes in (of course, no budget for that because no investor will pay for the mighty philharmonic anymore due to
P2P killing movies, but, hey, let's pretend) Massive orchestra and the violent sea rips through as the ship heads straight into danger.

The pirates of the titantic grasp their ropes and abandon ship.

and then....

I need another pint mate!

ach. @Wikieditor2008/ kdsde Das Schweinchen ist immer noch da!! Mate, is it you 'drin' . Interpunction? Now, that's the pot callin' the kettle isn't it? I mean, you of all people! (oh dear) Are you possibly saying that Reader's' Write (at 7:32 am) has used Interpunction! How dare you mate! (laughs, nearly crying, pause. takes breath). I say to my keyboard "WTF".

the quote: Last year, in an article on Sky News, I read that a woman was fined a massive fine for file sharing on the Kazaa network. I thought, great! The police are coming. Then my husband sent me a link to another article titled "Should You Pay For Music?". I instantly thought....eh? Has the world gone mad? It's like saying "Should you pay for petrol?"or "Should you pay for bread?"..... hey, maybe I was being too 'traditional'? I guess you could compare it to you, yourself working all week long. You go to the bank and cash your check, and the banker takes your money without putting it into your account.
But, it's much deeper than this. Whether or not the public is offered music for free or at a cost is not the real issue. The real problem lies in the fact that 'share' sites are making money by pointing to 'other people's copyrighted content'... " (unquote)

I shall interpunct now: This does not imply that she took pleasure because someone was fined. This implies that at that point she thought that a policing of the internet would follow. I am an english scholar. I can read. I can write. I write and edit scripts for a living mate. Interpunct? You're a nutter.

@ Reader's Write Says:
July 15th, 2008 at 7:32 am

do Not change meanings of something someone said by changing the interpunction!

what you cite is NOT what she wrote/said/ment!

Unless you claim she is stupid and not able to use basic interpuntion and wording styles in her mother language!

Remember Reader's Write: only try to rewrite history if you are the winner and can manipulate the sources as fitting your agenda.
In your case it does not work since we have her original!

She said something completely different!

that sounds a bit stupid (no offense) but, fans could be ones who download and not buy, etc or people
who see a live gig and download.

She didn't say that attacking Jammie Thomas was a great idea. She said 'great, the internet police are coming'
which means, something is finally being done about illegal file sharing. Let's face it kids, stealing is illegal.
There was a trial for the Kazaa woman and there must have been enough evidence to give that woman that penalty.
The penalty was harsh, however, file-sharing has caused people to lose their jobs who also have children. The
point being is that file-sharing of copyright content is, indeed, ILLEGAL. This is something that you absolutely
cannot argue about in any way. It is impossible to argue the fact that it is ILLEGAL. It is written on every CD and
DVD and piece of software. It is in the iTunes terms of agreement. no duplication, etc.

Now, take that to the bank.

She also says, “I don’t want any of my fans (or potential fans) to be fined because they downloaded an Indiana Gregg album”.

Somehow this doesn't make a lot of sense. Existing fans wouldn't need to download the album because them being fans would get the real thing anyhow.

Potential fans are completely out the question the moment she thought that attacking Jammie Thomas was a great idea.

I wouldn't bother anymore, kd.

only intends to stir you up, even to the point of racial slurs.

He's trolling.

So ART are you saying you don't know what a question is?
In that case I will help you to find as a biginning at least the questions from me towards you that are posted on this blogpost (16371).
See if there is a comment that contains the letters "A","R" and "T" that could be something that is aimed at you. Note that those letters could also be not capitalised which would mean that could look like "a","r" and "t".
so while we have established what you must look for in the first place, now we must find out what is a question.
I'm sure even you wisited a school and your teacher told you that there a some special symbols that can stand at the end of a sentence. A "full stop" for example! (Ian Morrow likes to say full stop too!) "In the UK ( and most other countries) file sharing by torrent or otherwise is illegal... full stop. "
"." <- that one inside the " " is such a thing called full stop. so if you see one of those you can ignore that sentence that is not a wuestion and you don't need to torture your tiny head with trying to understand the content before that symbol.
some other symbol that can be used at the end of a sentence is a so called "exclamation mark". Just to prevent your tiny short attention span only able brain to overload I will not explain that further but go directly to the thingy you must look out for to spot a question;
The thingy you must look out for at the end of a sentence is called a question mark.
It does look like this "?".
Now have you underand the lesson so far, could you follow? (look that is a question! but you do NOT need to answer that one, you know we grownups from time to time use stuff that is called a rhetorical question, don't bother that concept is too hard for you to grasp in this early learningstage. Just try to remember what you were told so far and you can spot the questions towards you. I'm cofident! *Du schaffst dass! Schackka*)

I think that the circus began when TPB posted emails from a small independent label that was requesting a link.

Bit comical. Big Torrent (world's biggest) search engine picks on little indie label? Expects little indie-girl to back off and feel humiliated.
Indie girl speaks up for herself and points out sensitive point of big Engine's business probs. Big Engine gets mad.... Sounds
like a good film. Kind of David and Goliath eh?

Now big engine tries to make it look like little indie artist had some superpowers. Plot develops. Might speak to some TV channels about
this one. Do a documentary?

I'm here for a laugh, but, what are these questions?

hello. what are these questions? don't feel like reading back these days. lol

Just taking note of the "PR-worthy" comment above by....oh, of course, kdsde (ex/stalker?). Mate, no idea what you mean. let's see, we have a 'reposting of a rant' made by Indiana. Then something about TF asking if they could repost her rant. ok, some legal publishings? what were those?

Sorry kraut, I don't fully understand your post. I've not been a stalker as long as you I guess. So, you'll have to explain to me how this new theory of yours works.

later, I hope to make a movie from this.

I do agree that TPB are like diggin' for gold with any PR they can muster though. Even indie musicians. Bit naf aye?

Cordially

@dreddsnik
well observed that

what relevance has the suspected sockpuppet investigation with 3 millions or whith who makes a clown out of whom?

Btw in my opinion I would say its indiana who "did the clown" since she thought that reposting a rant she wrote in october last year as answer to an ACTUAL dispute she has with TPB.
And then she is a bit complaining now that the internet community is calling her names for that and argues that she could not forsee that her piece would for example be republished by TF.
But as she contents, TF did not jsut grab it and reposted it with indifference to the copyrightowner of that rant, she gave her explicit PERMISSIOn to TF do republish it.

SO it was her that though it would be "PR-wothy" to have some even bigger aftermath following the /legal publishings.
Which by the way were probably forgotten relatively unnoticed since the last entry by the prince Charles huckabay freak was so long gone and the visits in the /legal section were (as I alledge without having visit figures at hand now) most likely ignoreable before IAN and INDI draw their swords by rewarming 8 month old postings by themself!

P.S. ART where are you? Me and others are still waiting for answers from you!!

" So true. Peter Sunde is a complete clown. "

( notice how they are trying so hard to get away from providing supporting sources, by
using personal attacks to divert attention from the fact that they have no facts ;) )

C'mon,

" torrent freak even published that TPB makes $3 million/year. "

Still waiting for supporting references ...

For the record: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Carribeanqueen

Report submission by

Admiral Norton (talk) 13:17, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Evidence
Compare Special:Contributions/Carribeanqueen and Special:Contributions/Littleredm&m. All of their contributions revolve around the Indiana Gregg page. Also, Littleredm&m was created in early May ([1]), but became active only today, two days after Carribeanqueen's activities ceased. This leads me to think Carribeanqueen uses sockpuppets to engage in a dispute.
Comments
I have added 82.9.58.47 to the list of suspected and recently active socks. The account "Littleredm&m" was created on May 19, 2007, a day after IanMorrow (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log), the husband of Indiana Gregg, was blocked indefinitely for legal threats. These accounts most likely belong to him as he has continued editing the article also from IP addresses starting with 82.9.x.x ([2]). Prolog (talk) 14:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Conclusions

google torrent freak $3 million and The Pirate Bay and you will find plenty of sources.

The pirate bay boys are so busy trying to be internet superstars that they end up looking
like twats. They make the whole p2p community look stupid. The are constantly raising
up a stink.

The reason why they do so much PR? more users, more advertisers, more dosh! if they
would keep their fucking mouths shut it wouldn’t ruin it for everyone else. our torrent has
no advertising. we don’t have as many people, but, we aren’t criticised constantly either.
when someone wants their link down, we just take it down and don’t create a circus around
it.

So true. Peter Sunde is a complete clown. They look like twats as you say. Publishing emails
and making fuss over little indie artists. TPB are morons.
