MPAA, Batman, and US politics

p2pnet news view | MPAA News:- Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney, aka Hollywood with the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) as their mouthiece, have bought and paid for significant numbers of US politicians.
So, it’s no surprise to find MPAA boss Dan Glickman spouting about the need for “intellectual property protections” and the, “importance of bipartisanship” to “improve public policy,” not to mention a requirement for, “Washington legislators to traverse party lines, even during the partisan presidential election season”.
In other words, doesn’t matter what’s happening, vested corporate copyright interests come first.
And if you don’t believe it, just look at the, “record-breaking box office success of The Dark Knight from last weekend,” suggests Glickman.
That’llĀ let you know, “the appeal of American movies transcend political boundaries,” he says.
Not only but also, “I believe the same can be true as we tackle the major issues facing our country and our world,” states the MPAA leader in another of his famous non sequiturs.
“I have always found the most success working across party lines - whether securing reparations for black farmers or working with Senators Dole and McGovern on the school nutrition program, or now, rallying the world on intellectual property rights,” Glickman declares.
Rallying the world, eh?
Good one, Dan.
Hollywood Rulz.

Perhaps a crosshair on the forehead in the shape of a swastika. Or is that too contrived?

Don Quay,
what you (allegedly) want is not “swastika” but “hakenkreuz”.
“Swastika” has nothing to do with the later in conotation.
you were not implying that Mr. Glickman is a deeply religious man that is interested in religious culture that is thousands of years old, were you?
Or do you think this glickman is a man that should have any luck?!! (which is another original meaning of it)
Even coca cola liked the swastika once

I find it extremely insulting to the “swastika” that you associate a bad bad man like Glicky with it!
Don’t do that please!
It is silly enought when german DA’s send you a fine for 40 days of your dayly payment just because you have a swastika on your mobilephone as background and some pig watches over your shoulder while you look onto your phone while being at a (Ok it was a right wing!) demonstration!
