Star Trek Online launches August 10
p2pnet news view | Games:- “Cryptic Studios will reveal the first gameplay footage from Star Trek Online on Sunday, August 10, 2008, at the Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas,” says the company on its web page.
“The presentation will be at 1:30 p.m. PDT in the Gene Roddenberry Theater. We will also have a webcast available for fans who aren’t at the convention.”
EuroGamer is calling it the worst-kept secret in massively multiplayer gaming.
The “troubled” Star Trek Online project has been, “saved from oblivion and is in development with City of Heroes creator Cryptic Studios,” it says, going on:
“Star Trek Online is being developed ‘for both PC and console formats’. No word on which consoles, although we’d say Xbox 360 is more than likely since Cryptic’s other project, superhero MMO Champions Online, is coming to Microsoft’s machine.”
STO will have everything from, “the elegant domes of Starfleet Academy” to the, “ancient temples of Vulcan, from the towers of Qo’noS to the Fire Caves of Bajor, from the mysterious Mutara Nebula to the unexplored voids of deep space. all will be represented in stunning 3-D graphics,” promises Hexus.
