Created by brothers Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla from India, it was hot on Facebook until joint Scrabble owners Mattel and Hasbro claimed Scrabulous infringed their copyright and demanded it be taken down

“City of Heroes” maker NCSoft was told by Marvel to disallow custom superheroes too similar to their own characters. Mattel-Hasbro could tell the Agarwallas to stop certain combinations that are too close to Scrabble’s board layout.
